Army Secretary Short on Specifics Concerning Army Behavioral Health Review

The Secretary of the Army visited with soldiers at Joint Base Lewis McChord Monday. John McHugh also met with reporters to announce the completion of an Army wide review of how the military handles diagnosis of post-traumatic stress disorder.
McHugh: “It‘s my intent to make major portions of that document available. It just has not been staffed out as yet. I’m not here to design any kind of cover-up or to not put those data points out I’ll make those data points available as soon as we’ve staffed them out. “
The Army wide review was a result of an investigation into complaints that started with from soldiers at Madigan Army Medical Center. The soldiers had been scheduled for medical retirement in some cases, and had their PTSD diagnoses reversed by a forensic psychiatry team.
The team is no longer reversing diagnoses.
McHugh confirmed that practice was not repeated at other Army facilities.
