City Arts and Lectures was once known as "City Arts of San Francisco." Its title has changed, but the format is the same -- a weekly program of conversations with internationally-known figures in literature, criticism, science, and the performing arts. These guests offer the most diverse perspectives about ideas and values.

The series is recorded live before an audience in San Francisco. The on-air host for all City Arts & Lectures broadcasts is the Academy Award-winning actress Linda Hunt.
