Alternative Radio serves as a forum for debate
and controvercy,
providing a voice for groups that are overlooked by other media,
and is part of the non-profit Institute for Social and Cultural Change.
David
Barsamian
is director of Alternative Radio. He has been working in radio since 1978.
His interviews appear regularly in The Progressive, Z Magazine and
International Socialist Review. He is the author of "Eqbal
Ahmad: Confronting Empire" -- his series of interviews with late
Eqbal Ahmad and "The Pen and the Sword and Culture and Resistance"--
his series of interviews with late Edward Said.
Barsamian
is also the author of several interview books with Noam Chomsky including:
"The Common Good and Propaganda;" and "The Public Mind:
Conversations with Noam Chomsky."
His latest works are: "The Decline and Fall of Public Broadcasting;"
"The Checkbook and the Cruise Missile: Conversations with Arundhati
Roy;" and "Louder Than Bombs: Interviews from The Progressive
Magazine."
Barsamian
lectures on U.S. foreign policy, the media, propaganda, and corporate
power in the U.S., Canada, Brazil, India, and Europe.
