Places to take your school levy ballots
By Doug Nadvornick, Spokane Public Radio
They call the five sites “voter service centers”. They won’t be polling places in the traditional sense, where you get a ballot, go to a booth, mark they ballot and put it in the machine to be counted. They’re merely ballot drop-off points, although you can get a replacement ballot in case your original is lost or damaged.
Here are the five voter center sites: in central Spokane, the county elections office at 10-33 West Gardner. On the northside, take ballots to the North Spokane Library at 44 East Hawthorne. On the South Hill, you can go St. Mark’s Church at 316 East 24th. The valley voter center will be at Center Place in the Mirabeau Point complex at 24-26 North Discovery Place. And on the West Plains, take your ballot to St. Anne’s Church in Medical Lake…7-08 East Lake Street.
Elections officials say the five centers are all on S-T-A bus lines.
The voter centers will be open the same hours as were the polling places…seven a-m to eight p-m. Elections officials say the voter centers will only be open on Tuesday, not tonight (Mon).
If you prefer to mail your ballot, it will have to be postmarked by March 14th to be counted.
