2007 R&V Sale coming Feb 17 & 18

Donate items to make the sale a success!
Can you volunteer to move boxes of records Feb 15 & 16?

Every year, KPBX and KSFC gather records, tapes compact discs, video tapes, DVDs and software, sort them into general categories, and put the whole collection on sale at the Masonic Center Auditorium on West Main in Downtown Spokane.

The 2007 sale takes place Feb. 17 & 18. Saturday the doors open at 9 a.m. and items are available until 5 p.m. Sunday’s hours are 11 a.m.-5 p.m.

Admission is free; all single items are priced under $5.

Both days will feature recordings and videos from all eras for you to shop for. Schedule a couple of hours to enjoy browsing through the boxes. Categories include jazz, rock, pop, folk, and various forms of classical music.

Each day also features a silent auction of classic equipment and a few rare recordings. This sale is one of our most successful fundraisers, and supports our mission of enlivening our community’s cultural and artistic life. It’s a wonderful opportunity to meet up with other music lovers and public radio supporters.

During the sale, you’re invited to try complimentary treats from Rocket Bakery and coffee from Craven’s Coffee.

KPBX also holds a raffle, selling tickets for $1. Prizes will be listed on the R&V Sale page at kpbx.org, or check them out when you’re at the sale.

Event donors include Dutch’s Musical Instruments, Interface Computer School, and Mountain Gear.

During much of the Recordings & Videos Sale, Patrick Klausen spins some of the donated CDs and records on a sound system in the Masonic Center Auditorium. But from 1-3 p.m. each day, browsers will hear live music. The Bach Teens, part of the Northwest Bach Festival, perform classical music on Saturday afternoon. Sunday, enjoy the jazz of Brent Edstrom and Brian Flick.
